Your base

Annecy has lakeside hotels, apartments and campsites, and as a stage town its rooms will be in demand, so book the five nights together and early. If you are riding L'Étape du Tour on Sunday 11 July, stay near Cluses for that weekend instead: our Étape guide has the details.

Day by day

  1. Sat 10 July 2027

Arrive in Annecy and settle in. The Tour is still in Burgundy, so this is a day to walk the old town and plan the week.

  2. Sun 11 July 2027 · Tour de France, Stage 9: Villars-les-Dombes → Grand Colombier

Drive to Culoz, about an hour west, and walk or ride up the Grand Colombier for the summit finish of Stage 9. Go early: the road closes to cars long before the race. The same day, amateurs ride L'Étape du Tour from Cluses to Les Saisies.

  3. Mon 12 July 2027 · Rest day

Rest day for the riders and a free day for you. Ride or run the cycle path along Lake Annecy, swim in the lake, or look out for teams out on a training ride.

  4. Tue 13 July 2027 · Tour de France, Stage 10: Annecy → Sallanches

Stage 10 starts in Annecy, so walk to the start in the morning and watch the teams sign on. The finish is in Sallanches, but the roads there will be busy, so watch it on a screen.

  5. Wed 14 July 2027 · Tour de France, Stage 11: Cluses → Les Saisies

Bastille Day. Stage 11 starts in Cluses, under an hour from Annecy, and finishes at Les Saisies after the Col de la Colombière and the Montée de Bisanne. Pick the start, the Colombière or the Bisanne, and expect big crowds.

Getting around

Annecy is about 45 minutes by road from Geneva airport and has direct TGV trains from Paris. A car is the easiest way to reach the Grand Colombier and Cluses. On race days, leave early and park well away from the route.

Host councils publish road closure times and park and ride plans in the months before the race. We add them here as they come out.
