In short

The 2027 Tour de France starts in Edinburgh on Friday 2 July with three UK stages, finishing in Carlisle, Liverpool and Cardiff. The Tour de France Femmes follows from Friday 30 July with three more: Leeds to Manchester, Manchester to Sheffield and a team time trial in London on Sunday 1 August. The easiest plan is one base per stage, with a bridge night between stages.

Seeing more than one stage

UK Grand Départ questions

Can I see all three men's UK stages in one trip?

Yes. The stages run Friday to Sunday, 2 to 4 July 2027. Plan on three nights: the Edinburgh area on Thursday, Carlisle or Penrith on Friday, and Shrewsbury or near Welshpool on Saturday. A car makes it far easier, because Keswick has no railway station.

Where should I stay for the Grand Départ in Edinburgh?

Edinburgh has the most rooms on the stage, and the most fans chasing them. If the city is full or too pricey, Peebles in the Tweed Valley is close to the route and quieter, and Melrose puts you on the stage's only categorised climb.

When are the Tour de France Femmes stages in the UK?

Friday 30 July to Sunday 1 August 2027: Leeds to Manchester, Manchester to Sheffield, then a team time trial in London finishing on The Mall.
